VINEYARD
Wine from a Single Vineyard of 1.3 hectares planted in 1935. With 28 fruit trees, 2 stone sheds and cultivated on terraces, the vineyard is a clear reflection of how grapes were grown in Rioja in the past. Vines grown on 4 terraces between 520 and 600 metres high, with a south-east slope at the foot of the Sierra de Cantabria in Laguardia, with 5,000 vines per hectare. It is worked by hand and with mules and with a small caterpillar tractor. The wine is aged for two years in the barrel and in the bottle before release. An iconic wine that reflects its origin and expresses the history and identity of Rioja.
TASTING NOTES
It has a medium garnet colour with primary fruit aromas of cherries, blackberry, bramble and blackcurrant. Secondary aromas of brioche and tertiary aromas of figs, prune and earth. This wine expresses the typicity of the vineyard. The palate is elegant and well textured with smooth tanins. Good acidity, body and length. Great ageing potential.
